This Privacy Policy explains how yolea handles information when you use the mobile app. yolea is designed as a plant specimen and nature collection journal for local records, photos, notes, tags, and share card creation.
Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to the yolea app and related support communications. It does not apply to third-party websites, platforms, or services that may be governed by their own policies.
Information You Provide
You may choose to add plant names, specimen types, places, notes, tags, and photos to your specimen records. You may also create specimen share cards from records you select. The app does not require an account, password, or profile to use these local features.
Photos and Local Specimen Records
Specimen records and selected photos are stored locally on your device unless a platform feature chosen by you stores or backs up device data outside the app. When you save a generated share card to Photos, the app writes the image to your photo library only after you choose the save action and grant the required permission.
How Information Is Used
Information you enter is used to display your herbarium, search and filter records, edit specimen details, create share cards, and maintain your local balance for per-use share card generation. We do not use your specimen records to build a public profile or social feed.
Platform Services and Purchases
yolea may use Apple and App Store services for downloads, in-app purchases, payment processing, photo library permission handling, diagnostics, and device-level operations. Apple may process purchase records, device information, and account-related information under Apple's own terms and policies.
Support Requests
If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, or a description of the issue. We use support information to respond to your request and improve app reliability.
Retention and Deletion
Local specimen records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, delete local app data, or uninstall the app. Support messages may be retained for a reasonable period to handle the request and maintain business records.
Your Choices

- You can edit or delete local records inside the app.
- You can manage photo library permissions in iOS Settings.

Children's Privacy
yolea is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, please contact us so we can review the issue.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate for a local-first mobile app, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and device backups.
